**Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Multiple Counties Until 2 a.m. EDT**

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 2 a.m. EDT on Monday, August 19, 2024, for Lowndes, Thomas, Decatur, Gadsden, Seminole, Miller, Baker, Mitchell, Grady, Colquitt, Brooks, Cook, Berrien, and Lanier counties.

Scattered thunderstorms moving southward from areas north of our region will begin to affect our area in the coming hours. While storms will be sporadic throughout the night, some could develop into organized cells capable of producing damaging winds and small hail, particularly in south Georgia before midnight. The storms are expected to move into the Big Bend area later.

There is no tornado threat associated with these storms.
